Videos you watch may be added to the TV's Background: Deviation of the PR segment is a common but often ignored ECG finding in acute myopericarditis, but seems to be rare in the acute phase of ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Since rapid bedside differential diagnosis of acute myopericarditis and STEMI is essential, we decided to assess the diagnostic power of PR depressions in patients presenting with ST elevations in the emergency room. 2017-06-14 · The PR segment is the portion of the ECG from the end of the P wave to the beginning of the QRS complex. The PR segment is different from the PR interval, which is measured in units of time.

If the PR interval is > 200 ms, first degree heart block is said to be present. A segment in an ECG is the region between two waves. PR segment starts at the end of the P wave and ends at the start of the QRS complex. The ST segment starts at the end of the QRS wave and ends at the start of the T wave.

After the signal leaves the AV node it travels along a pathway called the bundle of His (3) and into the right and left bundle branches (4, 5). The P wave, QRS complex, and T wave are the parts of an EKG in which there are changes in voltage (waves). The region between 2 waves is called a segment.
